I love this hotel. It was not my sixth or seventh stay there. I am always totally impressed how easy everything is compared to other hotels. Many of them should take an example on the Novotel to learn that the most important thing is not the booking BUT THE GUEST. And they understand the meaning of hospitality perfectly. It starts with the booking, continues at the check-in and ends and the check-out. NO DRAMA, leaving me with a big smile and the decision to be back. Staff always goes to full length and is super helpful and accommodating. Rooms might no be the most modern, but they are squeeky clean and very, very spacious. All rooms I have had came with stocked mini bar at very reasonable pricing and all amenities you would expect. Don't miss out on the delicious and massive breakfast buffet (always looking forward to that). One of the best things is the location which is half way through between St. Jean Train Station and the Old Part of Bordeaux. Everything very well within walking distance.

An ideal location just a few blocks from the train station. We don't really need (or enjoy paying for) super upscale, and this Novotel is the perfect balance of down to earth and comfortable (we've stayed at two other hotels near the station and both were a little downscale for our taste and comfort). The staff was great - friendly and helpful. My bag didn't make it to the airport and then didn't make it during our stay at the Novotel, and they called us as soon as it was delivered to let us know it was there. The restaurant/bar is comfortable and the food above average (we had a dinner and two lunches there, and the breakfast is quite generous). We'll stay here again when we come back to Bordeaux.

It was affordable compared to many other hotels closer to the historic neighborhood, however, it provided a nice walk to reach the sight-seeing areas. It was also very close to the main train station, so that was a big draw for those of us traveling with a suitcase. The downstairs bar and breakfast area was nice, and the breakfast was fantastic! The air conditioning was out in our units, so the hotel compensated us with free breakfast for both days we stayed. Pro Tip: You'll also get free drink vouchers if you forgo the daily room cleaning service so that's another plus ... but we don't recommend the wine they serve because it's definitely NOT what you'd expect in Bordeaux.

Breakfast was very good if overpriced at 18 Euros pp. Location excellent with the tram stops just outside the hotel. The classic room was a reasonable size and the bed comfortable. We had a power cut overnight on our second night which couldn't be fixed by the reception staff member who immediately responded to our complaint in the morning. He arranged the room to be changed for us at once and we were upgraded to a premier room with terrace plus a complimentary breakfast. Impressed by all staff members who couldnt be faulted, cheerful, welcoming and attentive.

The hotel was generally very good. Staff were well above average, they were all excellent: smiling, friendly, helpful. The breakfast was excellent and for a wide range of taste. I did not intend of having breakfast but jet lag push me downstairs around 9AM ... what a good move :-) The hotel/room were clean and quiet (even with the tram running in the front street). Very weel located at a small walk from the station and walking distance from Old Bordeaux and very nice restaurants with a wide range of prices.
